Discovery Production Group, which recently opened its new headquarters in Silver Spring, Md., is outfitting its new facility with Avid/DS HD 6.0 systems to finish and master programs for Discovery HD Theater, a 24-hour HD channel launched in 2002.
Discovery's new facility will also include 27 Avid Symphony systems, 11 Media Composer systems and three Digidesign Pro Tools suites.
Discovery has used Avid gear on the 115 programs it produced last season and for series including "Trading Spaces," "The Secrets of National Glacier Park" and "The Crocodile Hunter" in 2003.
Discovery Program Group handles TV production and post production for media brands under Discovery Communications.
