DISH Network, Ensequence combine to deliver interactive TV for Olympics
NBC Universal (NBCU) is relying on direct-to-home satellite pay-TV provider DISH Network and interactive TV company Ensequence to transform its coverage of the 2008 Beijing Olympic Games into a fully interactive experience.
DISH Network is offering NBCU’s 2008 Beijing Olympic Games coverage through its Interactive TV (iTV) mosaic, a multiscreen showcase available to more than 12 million iTV-enabled DISH Network subscribers.
The iTV mosaic is broadcasting from six NBCU channels, including CNBC, MSNBC, Oxygen, USA Network and two Olympic highlights channels. DISH Network subscribers can watch all six screens simultaneously or select one channel to watch in full screen.
The 2008 Olympics is the second time NBCU and Ensequence have teamed up to deliver interactive television to viewers.
