DISH Network surpasses nine million customers

published EchoStar Communications announced that its DISH Network now has more than nine million customers, making it the fastest growing direct-to-home satellite network. DISH Network reached one million subscribers in December 1997 and passed the eight million milestone less than 10 months ago.
In contrast, at the end of the second quarter, 2003, Echostar’s competitor, DirecTV, reported a total of 11.5 million U.S. subscribers.
