Dolby Digital Plus unveiled at NAB

published Dolby Laboratories has debuted Dolby Digital Plus technology, an enhancement of traditional Dolby Digital that’s designed to accompany future video broadcasting formats. The new audio technology is more efficient than the original Dolby Digital and maintains high quality while reducing the size of the audio stream.
On April 2, the Advanced Television Systems Committee (ATSC) elevated Dolby Digital Plus (Enhanced AC-3) to Candidate Standard status as part of its work on next-generation broadcast and transport systems.
