Dolby Provides Hardware and Service Support to Boeing Digital Cinema
Boeing Digital Cinema has purchased Digital Media Adapter (DMA8) cinema interface units from Dolby Laboratories and hired Dolby's Technical Services Group for the initial implementation of Boeing's In-Cinema Equipment suite for upcoming digital cinema presentations. Dolby will also perform site surveys, system integration testing and other content management functions.
The DMA8 allows cinemas to decode multiple digital audio formats, such as PCM, broadcast Dolby Digital and Dolby E, from multiple sources, including satellite, servers or fiber, and feed them into their existing cinema sound systems. The DMA8 also has built-in processing capacity for upgradability, which will enable use with other formats down the line.
