Dolby to highlight Media Encoder SE
At NAB 2007 (booth #N2513), Dolby Labs will introduce the Media Encoder SE, designed as a cost-effective solution for facilities with individual mastering suites.
Dolby Media Encoder combines mastering features with project and file management capabilities. It encodes Dolby Digital, Dolby Digital Plus, Dolby TrueHD and MLP Lossless formats. The encoder works in non-real-time on a local computer or over a network, giving access to multiple clients within a facility.
The new SE version has all of the mastering features of Dolby Media Encoder for use on a single computer, and can also queue multiple jobs for overnight, unattended processing. Source and encoded files can be previewed using an integral playback decoder. Media Encoder SE also works with Dolby Media Decoder and Dolby Media Tools.
Dolby said it would also introduce universal applications of all Dolby Media Producer products, designed to run natively on both PowerPC and Intel Macintosh computers. Also being shown is Dolby Media Producer, a suite of professional software audio mastering tools designed for DVD and HD packaged media formats. The tools support DVD-Video, DVD-Audio, HD-DVD and Blu-ray formats.
