TANDBERG Television, a provider of open solutions for digital broadcasting and broadband, has completed the installation of an IP video delivery system for Dubai Internet City.
The Middle East’s premiere IT infrastructure includes a large commercial IP communications system where TANDBERG Television has worked alongside Cisco Systems to deliver a high-quality optical fiber broadband experience that includes managed voice, video and data services.
TANDBERG Television has provided a complete TV-over-IP system and set-top-boxes for the delivery of TV, VoD and interactive services, as well as taking responsibility for systems integration of all TV elements of the broadband build-out.
The system runs on Cisco’s secure IP backbone and is based on TANDBERG Television’s iTTV delivery platform, which is designed for both DSL and fiber networks, and supports the delivery of television and video on demand services over both IP and ATM.
The Dubai Internet City system includes TANDBERG Television products, such as E5710 MPEG-2 encoders.
The package offers an integrated, broadband IP solution in a flexible and scalable package with carrier class availability and low operational costs.
