The United Kingdom's Ministry of Defense awarded a 3-year 6.2 million pound ($11.6 million) sterling contract to the electronic tube division of e2v Technologies PLC for development and evaluation of a new high power, high bandwidth microwave transmitter. e2v will be the prime contractor for the project in a consortium that includes the University of Strathclyde and TMD Technologies Ltd.
UHF TV broadcasters know e2v as a supplier of high power tubes for TV transmitters.
