Hybrid edit system maker Editware and switcher manufacturer Ross Video announced an alliance to extend the interface between Editware's editor product line and Ross' Synergy production switchers.
The agreement provides users with direct interoperability between the two company's product lines, sharing of protocol information and cooperation on development of protocol extensions to provide the "tightest editor to switcher/DVE integration on the market," the companies said.
Editware manufactures Fastrack hybrid editing systems and Super Edit software. The company said the Super Edit has the distinction of being the "longest continuously supported, upgraded, and enhanced editing software application of its kind in broadcast television." At NAB, Editware showed its Fastrack editor with the Synergy 100 compact digital production switchers.
