Envivio will introduce the 4Caster broadcast series real-time MPEG-4/H.264 encoder and 4Front MPEG-4 IPTV middleware at IBC2004.
The encoder provides real-time MPEG-4 encoding for full-resolution, full-frame rate video. The new broadcast series includes MPEG-4 AVC/H.264 encoding with DVB-ASI output. It offers a significant reduction in network bandwidth (satellite, ATM, broadband IP) compared to MPEG-2 encoding.
4Front is a complete service management platform that allows network operators to integrate Envivio MPEG-4 technology into a commercial television broadcast business. It features an EPG, a customizable VOD portal, subscriber management system, service management platform, conditional access controls, and business rules and pricing applied to all services.
