Euphonix Equips KCET Production Truck
By TVTechnology
published Los Angeles PBS affiliate KCET has outfitted its production truck with the Euphonix System 5-BP with 24 channel strips and 72 channels.
The truck is used to produce a game show for the California Lottery, but much of the time, Tribune Broadcasting rents the truck, using it for audio and video support to produce ESPN's "Jim Rome is Burning" show.
The System 5 gets high marks from Bob Whyley, who previously mixed NBC's "Tonight Show." "Where many digital condoles fall apart, is in the high frequency shelving EQ, which all too often sounds harsh and brittle," he said. "With the System 5, the sound is very open and analog."
