EVS offers new production server
EVS is introducing a new four-channel video production server designed for studio applications at NAB. The new XS is part of the company’s Silverline series and is a new EVS brand developed specifically for near-live and prerecorded studio productions.
Built on EVS loop recording technology, the new XS server records multiple audio and video feeds, as well as provides instant control and multichannel playback operations. It offers multiple SD and HD codec configurations with native support, such as IMX, Avid DNxHD and Apple ProRes 422, for faster and easier media exchange within post-production environments. The XS interfaces with a wide variety of third-party tools, such as automation systems, linear or hybrid editors, switchers and controllers.
The XS can be managed with Insio and IPDirector, EVS’ studio software applications, and it emulates tape machines when using the BVW75 RS422 protocol. As a result, playback machines and editing recorders are no longer needed.
