Experimental License Grants
The FCC Office of Engineering and Technology released a list of experimental applications granted between 7/1/04 and 8/1/04. Broadcasters may be interested in one of the grants, license WD2XKG to Shure Incorporated for operation in the 180-186, 192-198, 204-210, 674-680, 764-770, 776-782, 788-794, and 800-806 MHz bands for "testing RF susceptibility of wireless microphones to interference from unlicensed devices. These band correspond to TV channels 8, 10, 12, 48, 63, 65, 67 and 69, respectively. The license is for fixed and mobile operation in Niles (Cook county), Illinois. Other license grants show manufacturers are starting to test equipment for the new 4 GHz public safety allocation.
