Fairlight Xynergi wins design award
The Fairlight Xynergi Media Production Center, launched last October, has achieved one of Australia’s highest accolades for design excellence, the Australian International Design Award for 2008. This is the fourth such award for Fairlight, but according to Tino Fibaek, Fairlight CTO, this one means more than any other because the Xyngeri system is so revolutionary.
“This is an amazing honor and we couldn’t be more delighted,” he said. “Xynergi is the result of many months of intensive research and development. We have concentrated on creating a design that is intuitive and user friendly, so customers can access all the features and functions they need at the touch of a button, allowing them to work faster and better. To have our efforts recognized by the Australian International Design Awards is a fantastic endorsement.”
This year’s competition was particularly fierce because, for the first time, the awards went global, attracting entries from Australian and internationally designed products available for sale in Australia. More than 150 designs were submitted for consideration, with 18 products receiving an Australian International Design Award in recognition of design excellence. Xynergi was one of just three designs to win in the business and technology sector.
Fairlight’s Xynergi Media Production Center uses the company’s Crystal Core technology (CC-1) for its processing power, which is a radical departure from the way audio processing has been carried out in the past. It also incorporates integrated PyxisTrack video and features the Xynergi controller, a desktop user interface that allows engineers to access all features and functions of the Fairlight CC-1 as well as commonly used Windows applications.
The Fairlight Xynergi is targeted as a professional-grade audio finishing system to create multimedia projects. It has already been installed in key broadcast and post facilities around the world including NHK in Japan, Sonacom in France and Grand Central in London.
