FCC Announces Additional Satellite Licensing Process Reforms
The FCC is taking additional measures to modernize satellite licensing procedures through the introduction of two interactive forms for satellite and earth station licenses. Electronic filing will be mandatory for almost all satellite applications. As a result of the changes, the public will have instant access to almost all satellite applications and routine earth station filings via the Internet. The new 312EZ electronic form for Earth Station Applications will have built-in edit checks to make the application process error-free. A new Schedule S will ensure technical space station data is submitted in a standardized format. This will make it easier for the FCC to manage the spectrum and meet data sharing requirements.
The Report and Order was not available on line when this was written, but more details are available in the news release Satellite Licensing Reforms Ease Consumer Access.
