FCC auctions new broadcast construction permits

published Eight bidders won permits for 10 new full-power TV stations in an auction that expects to generate $23,367,650 for the federal government.
Among the high bidders were Word of God Fellowship, Richland Reserve, Entravision Holdings, Koplar Communications International, KEZI, and Cooper Fowler Media Company. The highest bid, $8.5 million, was by KEZI for a permit in Bend, OR.
The group represents new broadcasters who must now pay to use government-owned spectrum. Down payments are due April 6.
