FCC DBS License Auction Rescheduled for July
The FCC has rescheduled its auction of Direct Broadcast Satellite Service licenses for July 14, 2004. The auction will be for three licenses for unassigned channels at orbit locations of 175 degrees West Longitude (WL), 166 degrees WL and 157 degrees WL. Thirty-two channels are available at each of the two most western orbital slots and twenty-nine channels are available at 157 degrees WL. Minimum opening bids, per channel, are $100,000 for 175 and 166 degrees and $200,000 for 157 degrees, all west longitude.
