FCC delays MVDDS auction
By TVTechnology
published The FCC has rescheduled an auction for spectrum licenses for multichannel video distribution and data services (MVDDS) until August 6, 2003. The auction was previously scheduled for Feb. 12.
Though no official reason was given in an FCC media statement, it is presumed the reason is that the FCC needs extra time due to pending court proceedings surrounding the auction. The spectrum to be auctioned could be used as a terrestrial competitor for domestic satellite television services.
