FCC delays satellite spectrum auction
By TVTechnology
published The FCC has postponed an auction scheduled for June 25 on satellite spectrum direct-to-home satellite services. The auction is due to be rescheduled after the commission decides on proposals to accelerate build out requirements for the successful bidders.
Northpoint Technology, who originally proposed that the FCC create the service to be used on the spectrum, has also challenged the auction in court. Northpoint claims it is entitled to the spectrum at no cost.
