FCC Experimental License Grants
The FCC released a list of experimental licenses granted between July 1 and Aug. 1, 2005. One grant that broadcasters using the 2 GHz broadcast auxiliary service (BAS) band should be concerned with is WD2XPK. It allows Clarity Broadcasting Systems to use 2 GHz ENG spectrum to broadcast TV programming to truckers and RV users at truck stops in Los Angeles County (Frazier Park) Calif., North Salt Lake Utah and Ogden Utah. See RF Report for Aug. 2, 2005, which reported on the Clarity license grant.
The only other license grant that could possibly affect broadcasters is WD2XSE, issued to SAE Systems Information and Electronic Systems Integration, Inc. to operate on discrete frequencies between 900 MHz and 4000 MHz for antenna testing in Merrimack, N.H.
For other license grants, see the FCC list of experimental licenses granted between July 1 and Aug. 1, 2005
