Janet Jackson's indecent exposure during this year's Super Bowl halftime show may cost Viacom more than $500,000 in fines.
The FCC's Enforcement Bureau staff has suggested that the media company should be fined $550,000 for the incident. If the fine is approved, all CBS TV stations would be liable to pay the $27,500 per violation permitted under FCC rules.
The FCC is currently reviewing the proposal. If approved, Viacom will be allowed to challenge the decision.
