FCC Plans DTV Consumer Education Workshop
The FCC said it would be hosting an all-day consumer education workshop on digital television. The event is planned for Sept. 26 and will be held at commission headquarters in Washington, D.C.
The stated purpose of the workshop is to provide an opportunity for all interested parties to discuss the challenges associated with the planned DTV transition and to look at possible ways to coordinate efforts directed at consumer education. The commission is inviting organizations representing a range of consumers and other stakeholders. These include low-income groups, senior citizen organizations, non-English speakers and the disabled.
A live audio Webcast of the event is also planned and will be available on the FCC’s Web site. Recordings will also be made and distributed.
