FCC seeks comments and independent analyses for ownership rule changes
The FCC has set a December 2 deadline for public comment on its package of 12 media market studies (see above story) and the submission of independent analyses of the media marketplace. A reply comment deadline was set for January 2, 2003.
“In releasing the 2002 Biennial Ownership NPRM, the Commission indicated that parties should address these studies in their comments and should initiate their own independent analyses of the media marketplace,” an FCC announcement said. “The Commission intends to use the evidence collected in the studies, as well as the comments, to guide and support its decisions in the ownership proceeding.”
Comments may be submitted using the FCC’s Electronic Comment Filing System (“ECFS”) or by filing paper copies. Comments may also be filed as an electronic file via the Internet at www.fcc.gov/e-file/ecfs.html.
To obtain filing instructions for e-mail comments, interested parties should send an e-mail to ecfs@fcc.gov, and should include the following words in the body of the message: “get form .” A sample form and directions will be sent in reply.
