FCC to Consider Changes to MDS/IFTS Regulations
By TVTechnology
published As noted elsewhere in this week's RF Report, the FCC is considering changes to the rules for the 2.5 GHz spectrum used by MDS/ITFS. At its June 10, 2004 Open Commission Meeting, the FCC will consider amending Parts 21 and 74 of the FCC rules to enable MDS and ITFS to engage in fixed two-way transmissions. The Report and Order and Further Notice of Proposed Rulemaking will cover eligibility, licensing and service rules for the 2500-2690 MHz band "to promote ubiquitous wireless broadband services nationwide."
