FCC to host DTV consumer workshop
The FCC has announced the agenda topics and tentative speakers for its Digital Television Consumer Education Workshop to be held Sept. 26 at FCC Headquarters in Washington, D.C.
The workshop will be held in the commission’s meeting room and is scheduled to begin at 8 a.m. and end at 3:45 p.m. It will provide an opportunity for interested parties to “jointly discuss the challenges associated with the upcoming transition and explore ways to develop coordinated consumer education activities.”
The FCC said speakers will represent the viewpoints of senior citizens, low-income consumers, nonEnglish speakers, people with disabilities, tribes, and public interest organizations working on behalf of underserved customers or those living in rural areas.
A live audiocast of the hearing will be available at the FCC’s Web site at www.fcc.gov/realaudio/#sep26 on a first-come, first-serve basis. In addition, the hearing will be recorded, and the recording will be made available to the public.
During the workshop, the public can e-mail questions for the panelists at dtvworkshop@fcc.gov.
