FCC waives 2GHz BAS relocation deadline; takes 60 days to consider options
By TVTechnology
published The FCC Sept. 7 waived its initial deadline for completion of the 2GHz Broadcast Auxiliary Service (BAS) relocation project and extended it to Nov. 6.
On Sept. 4, the commission received a joint petition from Sprint Nextel, the National Association of Broadcasters (NAB), the Association for Maximum Service Television (MSTV) and the Society of Broadcast Engineers (SBE) requesting a 29-month extension of the deadline.
During the 60-day extension period, the commission will consider the issues addressed in the joint petition.
