Ferree to Also Exit FCC
By TVTechnology
published The FCC has confirmed that Media Bureau Chief Ken Ferree also intends to leave the agency in March. Chairman Michael Powell announced last week he intends to leave the agency that month.
Powell appointed Ferree as Media Bureau Chief in 2001; he had been head of the Cable Bureau.
Just like Powell, Ferree gave no hint of his post-agency plans in a message to employees. Ferree's exit is effective March 4.
Unclear is who would succeed Ferree. An agency spokeswoman said that decision would be up to the new chairman. Also unclear at this point is whether an acting chief would be named in the interim.
