Fifty-two markets put YouNewsTV to work
YouNewsTV, a local social networking and user-generated video application, is now live in 52 markets throughout the United States, including San Francisco, Detroit, Seattle, Portland, OR, and San Diego.
YouNewsTV, an application developed and managed by Broadcast Interactive Media in New York City, allows local media Web sites to accept user-submitted photos and video for Web and broadcast distribution. Broadcast Interactive Media moderates and screens all incoming footage and comments for any copyright infringement or inappropriate content.
KUSI-TV, the McKinnon-owned station in San Diego, supplemented coverage of the recent southern California wildfires on its Web site with hundreds of photos and videos submitted by viewers. The station also featured submissions from citizen journalists on air, “giving our coverage the depth and breath our viewers demand of their local newscasts,” said Mike McKinnon, station owner and general manager.
