Magnolia Pictures plans to release one of its upcoming independent motion pictures simultaneously to theaters, standard DVD, Blu-ray Disc and HD DVD, according to Variety.
"The Architect," starring Australian actor Anthony La Paglia of the American TV series "Without a Trace," will be available in both Blu-ray and HD DVD versions with 1.78:1 aspect ratio, 1080p video transfers, director's audio commentary, deleted scenes, and a making-of featurette, according to published reports. The movie will be released Dec. 5.
The suggested list price for both HD format discs will be $35, or about $5 more than a typical standard DVDs.
