Fire Breaks Out in KMSB-TV Video Library
TUCSON, ARIZ.: A fire that broke out early this morning at KMSB-TV has caused at least $100,000 in damages, the station said on its Web site. No injuries were reported. The fire started in the videotape library, and though it didn’t spread to the rest of the building, the smoke did. Employees were asked to stay home Monday while the facility was being cleaned up.
The Tucson Fire Department was called to the site shortly after 6 a.m. local time. The fire was brought under control in about 10 minutes, the Arizona Daily Star said.
KMSB, the local Fox affiliate owned by Belo, shares the facility with KTTU-TV, the local MyNetwork affiliate, also owned by Belo. Both stations continued to broadcast after the fire. — Deborah D. McAdams
