Florida Fox station installs Crispin automation workflow
WFTX, the Fox affiliate in Cape Coral, FL, has installed Crispin’s System 2000 suite of automation applications to support asset management, satellite recording, media ingest, device control, traffic translation and on-air playback. The solution includes five workstations, each focused on a specific workflow task.
The local station is now using Crispin's ArchiveManager (CAM) combined with an external 16-bay nearline RAID array — with 5.2TB capacity — to store content as digital files. With CAM, operators can view media object detail, transfer requests and status messages, along with video server and archive content. CAM is integrated with automation and, consequently, does not require middleware to manage the archive.
All of the station’s material can be quickly searched and retrieved for airing and dubbing via a drag-and-drop software interface. The System 2000’s database allows fast lookup of assets and supports volume export for optical disk libraries. The system will prompt for insertion of the needed media and automatically restore the native format file back to the video server for play-to-air.
