FOR-A to intro compact Hanabi

FOR-A Corporation of America, an audio and video systems manufacturer, will introduce a scaled down, 1 M/E version of its Hanabi digital production switcher series.

The HVS-1000HS is SD/HD switchable. Its multi-bit, multi-format functionality is well suited for most telecine, production, post-production applications as well as for broadcasting

Set to debut at the National Association of Broadcasters convention, the new HVS-1000HS switcher is 2RU high and can handle all standard and high-definition (1080i, 720p, 24p) productions.

The switcher’s SD/HD switchable, multi-bit, multi-format functionality is well suited for most telecine, production, post-production applications as well as for broadcasting.

The eight-input, five output switcher, with room for 16 inputs, is available in two configurations: The HVS-1000EOU is designed for editing and in-studio applications, while the HVS-1000LOU is configured for remote production OB (van) and live production. A DVE card comes pre-installed.

FOR-A will also show its existing 2 M/E version of the Hanabi. The Hanabi HVS-3000H is a 3RU HD switcher with (optional) a built-in multichannel DVE. It provides six independent key layers (three per M/E), key edge and shadow generators, and chroma key capability. Four control panels can be interfaced to one main unit to set up productions from multiple locations.

The Hanabi series also includes an SD model, the Hanabi HVS-3000S, which features up to four channels of DVE. A 16-input Hanabi switcher was recently purchased by KLCS-TV, the public TV station for the Los Angeles Unified School District, for its on-air broadcasts.
