Fox Inks Panasonic DVCPRO P2 Deal
By TVTechnology
published Fox O&O's in the New York City market are converting their news operations to the Panasonic DVCPRO P2 recording system.
The substantial purchase includes DVCPRO P2 gear including cameras, studio decks and drives. By March, the stations--WNYW-TV and WWOR-TV--should have completed the conversion of news operations.
Using the DVCPRO P2, newsgatherers can shoot and edit in a nonlinear environment and transmit the story to the station for airing, cutting down on cost and time spent in digitizing content and creating the broadcast piece.
Additionally, the P2 card can be used up to 100,000 times, according to Panasonic.
