FOX News Channel launches HD simulcast
FOX News Channel (FNC) yesterday launched an HD simulcast, following last fall’s FOX Business Network kickoff in HD.
Initially available to Time Warner customers in select regions, the FOX News HD feed will be presented throughout the network’s special election coverage, including the upcoming Democratic and Republican National Conventions.
FOX News HD will be offered as a separate HD signal and will be a simulcast of the SD channel. The HD service will also include added content on the screen in the form of an HD wing, which will display national and world headlines, the latest in the financial markets, weather updates and sports scores.
Time Warner Cable began carrying FNC HD May 1 in various parts of New York, including Queens, Brooklyn, Staten Island and Hudson Valley. Time Warner has also agreed to carry FNC HD in San Antonio, TX.
