FRANCE 24 delivers continuous U.S. news to European audiences with Genesis Networks
The 24-hour French cable network FRANCE 24 has selected Genesis Networks to provide permanent fiber-optic links between its U.S. news bureau in the New York Stock Exchange (NYSE) and its Paris headquarters. Genesis will also provide occasional-use transmissions of live news shots from Jerusalem and New York.
The feed from the NYSE is routed to Genesis Networks’ point of presence in New York, from which it will be providing all hardware including standards conversion between NTSC and PAL. As part of the deal, it will also provide 24/7 monitoring and technical support to FRANCE 24.
In addition, Genesis Networks will provide a fiber link from JCS, a major Jerusalem-based production house, to the FRANCE 24 headquarters for delivery of occasional live feeds covering news of the Middle East. It will also provide an occasional-use link for live studio shots originating from a production house in New York.
