Freep.com wins two more Emmy Awards
The Web site of the “Detroit Free Press,” Freep.com, won national Emmy Awards Monday from the Academy of Television Arts and Sciences in New York for two videos it posted in 2007.
The academy honored Freep.com for “40 Years of Respect,” a retrospective on the 40th anniversary of the Aretha Franklin song “Respect,” and “Pit Bulls: Companions or Killers?” The Emmy Awards bring the total to three in the past two years for the newspaper’s Web site.
A report on Freep.com about the presentation says videos are watched hundreds of thousands of times per month on the site.
