Fresno's KFSN Goes HD for Local News
One of the latest local broadcasters to transition their local news content to HD is KFSN in Fresno, Calif., which made the leap this week. The station is boasting a new $250,000 news set with three HD floor cameras and a larger video screen that the station (Channel 30) is using as an element of its StormWarn 30 Center weather coverage.
Besides paying more attention to various lighting configurations on the main set and a smaller adjacent set (to be used for interviews and other public affairs programs), the staff underwent extensive testing for make-up and wardrobe in the months prior to going HD, according to the Fresno Bee.
KFSN is an ABC affiliate and is now airing all their local news, as well as "Good Morning America" from the network, in 720p.
