FSN North to Offer 65 Twins Games in HD
FSN North said it plans to carry 65 Minnesota Twins games in HD this season, which represents more than a third of its entire season schedule, and more than half (56 percent) of its 116 scheduled telecasts this year.
Last year a total of 43 were aired in HD, compared to only 17 in the 2006 season, by FSN North.
“That’s where this business is going,” Mike Dimond, senior vice president and GM at FSN North, a component of Fox Sports, told the Minneapolis Star-Tribune. “They all will be in HD eventually, and certainly we’re trying to grow it as much as we can every year. The goal is by the 2009 season that all [Twins games] will be in HD. That’s what we’re working toward.”
FSN also is working to grow the number of HD games for to increase the Twin Cities’ NHL Wild and the NBA Timberwolves for their 2008-2009 seasons.
