Gennum receives Technical Emmy for its Serial Digital Interface
Gennum has been awarded a Technical Emmy Award by The National Television Academy for its Serial Digital Interface (SDI) chip-set technology, which allows broadcasters to transmit uncompressed, unencrypted digital high-definition signals quickly across a networked infrastructure.
The company’s SDIs are found on studio cameras, monitors, mixers and recorders, and enable producers to route information without compressing the data, which preserves image quality during the entire process.
The Technical Emmy award ceremony will be held at the International Consumer Electronics Show, Jan. 8, 2007, in Las Vegas.
