George Platt Stepping Down From ViewCast CEO Post

Plano, Texas-based ViewCast Corp. has announced that its current chairman and CEO, George C. Platt, will be retiring from that position on July 31. He will continue to serve as chairman of the company’s board of directors.

David T. Stoner, currently the company’s president and chief operating officer will succeed him. Stoner has also been appointed to the ViewCast board of directors.

In announcing his plans for departing his current position, Platt noted that ViewCast’s prospects for continued successful operation were “excellent” and that it was a good time for the transition.

“In addition, this change in leadership is well deserved, because Dave has done an exceptional job as president and chief operating officer,” Platt said. “Therefore, in his capable hands, I am confident that the company will succeed with its plan for 2008 and beyond.”

Stoner has been with ViewCast since August 1996, joining the company as vice president of operations. He has more than 20 years of experience in managing the development and marketing of video-related software and hardware products. He received a BSEE degree from the University of Kansas.

ViewCast is a provider of streaming media software and hardware.
