German broadcaster WDR to add two SNG vehicles
European broadcaster Westdeutscher Rundfunk (WDR) is purchasing two SNG vehicles from German system integrator VTS following a deal the integrator reached with ND SatCom for two satellite uplinks at IBC2007 in Amsterdam.
The uplink systems, which will be integrated by ND SatCom in Friedrichshafen, Germany, will be equipped with SkyRAY antenna subsystems and 400W high-power amplifiers.
The uplink packages also include ND SatCom’s monitoring and control system and the Automatic Pointing System (APS). The company’s SkyWAN technology platform allows vehicle operation by remote control via database. The technology provides SNG crews with full office communication capabilities when on-site.
