‘Gladiator,’ ‘Braveheart’ Battle to Top Blu-ray Sales
Two old warriors (at least old in cinematic years) fought their way into the Blu-ray Top 10 their first week in disc distribution, as Russell Crowe’s “Gladiator” and Mel Gibson’s “Braveheart” took the first and second slots, respectively. Another Crowe title, “State of Play,” entered the list at number four.
Batman sequel “The Dark Knight,” which has been on-and-off the Top 10 chart since it’s introduction last winter and is the top-selling Blu-ray title to date, is back on again at number nine after a couple of weeks’ absence. Four of the Top 10 titles were Universal releases.
