GMA to go HD
This fall, ABC News will begin HD broadcasts of "Good Morning America."
According to the network, the HDTV launch of the show and its weekend edition marks the first time that a regularly scheduled commercial network news program will be broadcast in HD.
The show’s move to HD is the latest step by the network’s news division to use HDTV for news coverage. In January, ABC News produced live coverage of the 2005 Inauguration Day in HD. Other recent HD news applications include a special three-hour, live broadcast of "Good Morning America" on Inauguration Day; the 2005 State of the Union address; and "Peter Jennings Reporting: UFO - Seeing is Believing."
In 2004 ABC News provided the HDTV pool feed of the 2004 State of the Union address for the first ever HDTV network coverage of the event.
