Gold Sound upgrades with AMS Neve AudioFile

AMS Neve's AudioFile SC is a high-speed audio editor. It combines a high level of edit performance on a hardware platform with industry-standard Fast Ethernet connectivity.

Gold Sound, a television audio post facility based in Southfield, Michigan, is upgrading its facility.

A long-time user of AMS Neve editors and mixing consoles, the facility is upgrading to the manufacturer's new AudioFile SC workstations and will install a Neve StarNet fiber optic post-production networking system.

The AudioFile SC, now with DSP plug-ins, offers increased speed and improved fill format compatibility over previous AMS Neve editors. Through upgrades and new purchases, Gold Sound will own five AudioFile SC systems.

AudioFile SC is a high-speed audio editor. It combines a high level of edit performance on a hardware platform with industry-standard Fast Ethernet connectivity. The system's integrated DSP processes—plug-ins from several third party vendors— include EQ, pitch shift, declick and decrackle algorithms, as well as creative effects such as distortion and resonance.

AMS Neve's new Serversound technology integrates a powerful sound effects library and search engine developed by mSoft into the StarNet networking environment. The Serversound sound effects library communicates with the AudioFile SC's browser software through standard TCP/IP protocol. AMS Neve Serversound enables the operator to use the Serversound search engine to quickly find sounds matching the criteria and instantly incorporate the sound(s) into the project at hand.
