Graphics Firm Teams With Digital Signage Company
BERGEN, NORWAY: Video graphics powerhouse Vizrt has formed an alliance with C-nario, a Tel Aviv, Israel, digital signage company. Vizrt will provide 3D graphics for C-nario’s global display business.
C-nario is said to have deployments in 40 countries. Customers include CNN, Nike, McDonalds, Disney, Comcast, Motorola, LAX and Barclays, among others. Backers include Carmel Ventures of Herzliya, Israel, and Opus Capital in Menlo Park, Calif.
Vizrt, established nine years ago, makes software based on Viz, its own 3D graphics engine that allows for real-time editing. The company, traded on the Oslo Exchange, posted 2008 revenues of $98 million, up 13 percent from its 2007 total. Net income for the year was $13.7 million, down from $16 million in 2007.
Terms of the deal between the two companies was not disclosed.
