Grass Valley Covers Final Four
Grass Valley production gear is being used to cover this weekend's Men's and Women's NCAA Final Four games in Indianapolis and Boston.
CBS Sports has contracted mobile production units from F&F Productions and NEP Supershooters for the men's coverage in Indianapolis. F&F is deploying its GTX14 truck, which includes a Grass Valley Kalypso HD production switcher, Tinix and Concerto routers and 2 four-channel Grass Valley Profile PVS 2000 HD video servers. NEP's SS-27 truck will be used as well, employing a Grass Valley Kalypso HD switcher, along with more than a dozen LDK 600 mk II Worldcam cameras, a Trinix video routing switcher, Concerto audio routing switcher and an assortment of Gecko and Kameleon signal conversion modules.
ESPN is using NEP Supershooters' SS-20 and SS-28 mobile production trucks to cover the NCAA Division I Women's Final Four at Banknorth Garden Arena in Boston. Each of the trucks are equipped with a Grass Valley Kalypso production switcher, Trinix router and multiple WorldCam HD cameras. The games will be broadcast in 720p, using the same 6000 mk II WorldCam cameras as the CBS shoot in 1080i.
