Grass Valley introduces 1080p HD camera at IBC
Thomson introduced at IBC2006 the new Grass Valley LDK 8000 HD camera, which offers dual-output, 14-bit A/D sampling and 24-bit digital signal processing as well as support for 1080i/p50 or p60 production.
Based on the company’s HD-DPM+ CCD sensor technology, the LDK 8000 shares the look, feel and many features of the Grass Valley LDK6000 HD camera.
The Grass Valley LDK 8000 camera — scheduled to be available in the fourth quarter — also uses triax and fiber-optic connectivity, allowing the camera to be compatible with currently installed and portable cables.
The LDK 8000 also provides an optional high-bandwidth fiber system, which will unlock the full possibilities of the camera’s fast progressive scanning and advanced super slow motion. The new Grass Valley fiber system will feature leading edge IT technology to deliver superior camera quality signals through 10 Gigabit Ethernet connections.
The LDK 8000 natively captures true progressive HD images in multiple formats and frame rates. With three 9.2 million-pixel HD-DPM+ CCDs, it also supports 720p and 1080i production for everything from remote-controlled, portable hand-held and studio applications to EFP uses for SDTV and HDTV productions.
