Green Bay Packers Outfit New Facility with Panasonic Plasma Displays
NFL's Green Bay Packers are equipping their new Lambeau Field facility with 25 Panasonic 42-inch diagonal TH-42PWD4UY plasma displays for coaches' offices, conferences and meeting rooms.
Packers' officials noted that the displays' 16x9 aspect ratio and thinner dimensions allow for easier viewing in compact offices. Falling prices and the ability to input video from analog decks and PCs directly to the displays also factored into their purchasing decision.
The plasma displays support display of VGA, SVGA, XGA, SXGA and UXGA resolution computer graphics and DTV/HDTV signals in 1080p 23/psf/25/30, 1080i 50/60, 720p 60, 480p/i and 576p/i. An optional DVI interface allows for direct digital input of RGB signals, minimizing distortion and sync problems common in conventional analog data transfers.
The TH-42PWD4UY features a 3000:1 contrast ratio and systems integration capabilities. The flat-screen display has a Real Black Drive System to produce deeper blacks to increase the contrast.
The display has a high panel brightness level of 780cd/m2, progressive scan 852 x 480 pixel resolution and 1024 shades of gray for color transitioning in gradated areas. It can produce over 16 million colors and has a viewing angle of 160 degrees.
