Harris has begun shipping version 2.0 of its NEXIO AMP advanced media platform introduced at the 2008 International Broadcasting Convention in Amsterdam.
NEXIO AMP 2.0 features software and hardware advancements for the NEXIO AMP server, including increased I/O density and storage capacity as well as reduced operating costs.
NEXIO AMP pairs a high-performance, HD/SD server architecture with content protection. Leveraging advances in processing power and server software development, NEXIO AMP 2.0 increases the platform’s I/O density to four HD video channels, including two ingest channels, allowing customers to use fewer servers to ingest multiple HD feeds for greater cost efficiency.
NEXIO AMP also now supports 450GB hard drives on the NEXIO storage area network working alongside the new NEXIO Media Host architecture to triple shared storage capacity to 72TB.
