Harris demos ATSC Mobile DTV at CES 2010
Harris supported several live ATSC Mobile DTV demonstrations during the 2010 International Consumer Electronics Show earlier this month in Las Vegas.
At the show, Harris supported over-the-air broadcasts for Las Vegas-market digital TV stations KLAS-DT, a CBS affiliate owned by Landmark Communications, and KVMY-DT, a MyNetworkTV affiliate owned by Sinclair Broadcast Group. Harris integrated its MPH ATSC Mobile DTV platform with each broadcaster's main transmitter to deliver the ATSC Mobile DTV streams.
Harris also transmitted eight ATSC Mobile DTV program streams of local and national content on local Channel 56. The DISH Network, which owns Channel 56 in the Las Vegas market, volunteered its frequency for the demonstration. Harris provided one Maxiva UAX air-cooled UHF transmitters and its MPH platform.
The MPH platform includes Harris’ NetVX video networking system, Synchrony mobile networking adapter and Apex M2X exciter, as well as signal generation and Electronic Service Guide (ESG) components from Roundbox.
